The Last Post - 2015

Room 5 on their last day of 2015
Another school year is over. It has been full of lots of exciting things and new learning. What an amazing group of confident, connected, actively involved learners these children are.
They've also been great teachers - of me as well as of each other.
Thank you for the privilege of teaching your children - my last class at Christ the King.
I will miss them.
Thank you, too, for your support throughout the year and for all the lovely gifts I have received.
I have been truly spoilt.

Have a happy and holy Christmas and a safe and relaxing holiday.

This morning we sang an early 'Happy Birthday' to Harriet, our only Christmas holiday birthday. Have a great day on the 20th and enjoy being 8.

Term 4 Week 10 - Year 3 Graduation Day

This morning we attended a graduation ceremony for the Year 3s. This was a special time when the Year 2s prayed for the Year 3s, the Year 3s prayed for their parents and we sang 'In God's Circle of Love' before the Junior School leaders, Kate and Joe, handed the leadership mantle onto two Year 2s.  Each Year 3 child was then presented with a special certificate to mark the end of their Junior School days. Morning tea followed - thanks for all the yummy food.
Parents, thank you for attending today's ceremony and for all your support this year.

Gold Mathlete

This morning Bridget received her second Gold Mathletics certificate.
Congratulations, Bridget, for this amazing effort. We are all very proud of you.

This morning we took a class photo. We stood in the same positions we were in for our class photo at the beginning of the year, with the exceptions of Kempton, who stood in Patrick's place and Ruby who is in Finn H's place. Check this out against the one for March and see how much we have grown!

At today's school assembly two Room 5 children received special Mathletics Awards.
Congratulations to Samantha and Samuel, who received Gold and Silver medals respectively for being the Top CTK Mathletes for 2015. They have consistently used Mathletics to improve their maths and gain certificates.
Ka wani kei Samantha and Samuel, we are very proud of you.

WOW! The children were amazing performers in 'The First Noel' junior production. I am very proud of them all. A special mention goes to Kate, who stepped into the role of Mary, and Samantha who stepped into Kate's role when the original Mary was sick.

After Tuesday's Touch Rugby games Neave and Samuel were named 'Player of the day' for their respective teams. Ka pai, Neave and Samuel, keep up the great playing.

Happy Birthday

Today Jacky turned 8. We sang 'Happy Birthday' and wished Jacky all the best as an 8 year old.

Gabrielle has been working on her typing. Today she received a Dance Mat Typing certificate as she has completed Level 4.
Ka pai, Gabrielle, keep up the great work.

This morning's dress rehearsal went very well. The children know their parts and where and when they need to move. We have another practice tomorrow, then on Wednesday morning we'll go over to the Aurora Centre to have a rehearsal with the sound and light people. Please be at school before the 8:45am bell so we can start the rehearsal on time. Costumes will be sent home on Wednesday afternoon.

If you've not yet bought your tickets, call into the office - $8 each. Don't miss out.
